Hanoi City as the National Capital of Vietnam is undergoing substantial development and urban growth commensurate with the processes of globalisation and operating under a free market economy. hansen provided the Team Leader as well as conservation planning, statutory planning and training specialist to review the planning and development practices in Hanoi. The project designed a new development management system for Hanoi City, local structure plans and development control manuals for the Ancient Quarter, French Quarter and other urban areas as well as a development approvals computer package to track applications through the approval system. The team worked closely with national and provincial government agencies as well as organising study tours to Australia and organising an extensive technology procurement program.

Thành phố Hà nội là Thủ Đô của Nước Việt nam đang trải qua giai đoạn xây dựng và phát triển đô thị rất lớn xứng với tiến trình toàn cầu hóa và hoạt động theo cơ chế thị trường tự do. Hansen đã cung cấp Trưởng Đoàn, quy hoạch bảo tồn, quy trình thủ tục pháp lý quy hoạch và các chuyên gia đào tạo để thẩm định xem xét việc thực thi quy hoạch và phát triển tại Hà nội.

Dự án thiết kế một hệ thống quản lý phát triển mới cho thành phố Hà nội, sơ đồ kết cấu địa phương và cẩm nang hướng dẫn sự phát triển cho phố Cổ và các khu vực đô thị khác cũng như quy trình xét duyệt phát triển trên máy vi tính để theo dõi các ứng dụng thông qua hệ thống phê duyệt. Đoàn đã làm việc chặt chẽ với cơ quan chính quyền tỉnh và trung ương cũng như tổ chức các chuyến đi tham quan học hỏi tới nước Úc và chương trình mua sắm công nghệ rộng rãi.
