hansen in collaboration with Vietnam´s National Institute of Urban & Regional Planning were invited to undertake the masterplanning of a world class golf resort on a 120 hectare site in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City), Vietnam.

The proposed development incorporates a world class 27 hole championship golf course, country club, a five star resort hotel, 200 residential lots, apartments ,sports facilities and a health spa.

Members of the hansen team travelled to Vietnam to work collaboratively with local professionals to develop a design that incorporated the specific requirements of local government as well as injecting a distinctly international feeling to the project.

A key element of the design was the use of a ´closed´ water treatment system which circulates and treats all the water on site making this golf course a truly unique and significant environmental project in Vietnam. Other key elements of the design include generous sized allotments with low site coverage presenting the residential areas as a truly integrated part of the golf course.

hansen´s design team also developed a 3D virtual model which allowed the client to see the site from a series of critical views as well as develop a fly-through animation to be used in presentations and marketing.

hansen´s urban planning team worked with local government experts and members of the National Institute to coordinate the planning submission and presentation to the Department of Architecture.
