landscape architecture

project: pretty sally meadows, wallan

client: pretty sally holdings

description of project

hansen was engaged by Pretty Sally Holdings Pty Ltd to prepare a landscape concept plan and associated landscape design guidelines for the proposed Pretty Sally Meadows subdivision at Wallan. The work undertaken comprised a description of the landscape design objectives, a description of the range of landscape character precincts within the overall subdivision, a description of the landscape design guidelines which will apply to all public domain areas within the subdivision and a description of the landscape maintenance program for ongoing management of the landscape works following construction.

The landscape design objectives describe desired public domain development outcomes and the landscape guidelines provide an outline of the ways in which these outcomes can be achieved. The landscape concept plan for the Pretty Sally Meadows subdivision promotes the idea of establishing a series of identifiable landscape character precincts, both within public open spaces and streets, as a means of maximising the legibility, amenity and interest of these spaces to both residents and visitors.

In general, the landscape character precincts have been developed to recognise and respect existing landscape features and attributes of these precincts and to empahsise the hierarchy of streets within the subdivision street network. It is envisaged that components of the guidelines will be incorporated into the Development Plan for the site as a requirement of the Mitchell Planning Scheme.
