17/02/2010 - traralgon activity centre plan
hansen partnership has been engaged by Latrobe City Council, in partnership with the State Government (including a contribution from the Creating Better Places program) to prepare a structure plan and urban design framework for the Traralgon Town Centre.
Our team of consultants includes Cardno Grogan Richards(traffic engineers), Tim Nott (Economics), Capire(social and community needs) and Jackson Architecture.
The aim of the project is to build on previous studies that have been endorsed by the local community
to provide a framework which will ensure sustainable development of the Town Centre over the next twenty years.
This will be achieved through a combination of high quality mixed use development and by private and public sector investment to improve the public realm. More specifically the project aims to:
• improve public transport, traffic flows and parking provisions within the Town Centre;
• Promote new development in the Town Centre;
• Improve pedestrian and bicycle access to the Town Centre;
• Ensure integration with areas around the edges of the Town Centre and the Station Precinct; and
• Address land use conflicts.
This study will take most of 2010 to complete.
If you would like more information about this project, key contacts at hansen include David Barnes and Jane Keddie.
