29/10/2010 2010 PIA planning excellence awards

Following the Planning Excellence 2010 Victorian Awards Ceremony, held on Friday 15th October, hansen is proud to have received an award in the Environmental Planning or Conservation category, for our involvement with the Local Government Planning for Sustainable Buildings Guide, in partnership with Sustainable Built Environments and MAV.

The Local Government Planning for Sustainable Buildings Guide is a leading practice planning implementation toolkit for Councils to embrace systems and principles for the pursuit of sustainable buildings in a 'bottom up' approach. It addresses the gap in the existing planning policy framework that sees numerous Council's attempting to encourage greater ESD standards in private development without the necessary policy support.

hansen also received a Commendation in the Urban Design Category, for the Dandenong South Residential Area Urban Design and Social Needs Framework Plan, in partnership with Capire Consulting Group.

The Dandenong South Residential Area Urban Design and Social Needs Framework Plan is a benchmark project for Victorian planning and design professionals because it addresses the fundamental challenges associated with urban regeneration in culturally diverse urban settings.

Hosted by the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA), these Awards recognise Excellence in the Victorian planning industry.
