28/02/10 brw triathlon
hansen was strongly represented in the recent BRW Corporate Triathlon on Sunday February 28th, with Damian Iles, Gary Wissenden, Carla Low, Justin Kelly, Steve Schutt and Ben Dohrmann participating. The event is held annually in every capital city of Australia.
In the lead up to the event, weekly training sessions were held in Fitzroy Gardens and Birrarong Marr on Thursday nights, which were attended by a number of staff members, including those not planning on competing on the day. It was a good chance for everyone to get out there and stretch their legs and develop a bit of friendly competitive edge.
On race day it was down to two teams; Steve, Damian and Gary on one and Carla, Justin and Ben on the other. Conditions were rough with high winds and even a tsunami warning on the coast, but the event went ahead as planned and the bold competitors took on the choppy water. With the great atmosphere of the day and the support of the hansen cheer squad (Emily and Sarah) everyone was enjoying themselves as they progressed through each leg of the race. Carla gave her team a head start with her fantastic time of 51.50!
