hansen was proud to sponsor the VPELA event - new urbanism in town centres: "design meets shopping" on Tuesday the 8th of March at Treasury Theatre.
After a brief introduction, panel members including Roger Nelson from NH Architects, Peter Seamer from Growth Areas Authority, David Hall from MAB Corporation, Gerry Gerard from Bakers Delight, Stuart Niven DPCD's Principal Urban Design Advisor and Natasha Swan from Manningham City Council were invited to share their views on the topic.
Speakers discussed what was involved in building a successful town centre, how to create places and how these spaces are used. Also discussed were the needs of the consumer as well as the reduction of business risk in a town layout and the role of small town centres in the 21st Century.
Following this informative presentation, guests then enjoyed drinks and supper in the Treasury Building.
